NA-MA-SI-VA-YA

Hail, the five letters! Hail, foot of the Lord!

Hail, foot of Him Who not for an instant quits my heart!

Hail, foot of the Guru-Pearl that rules the Universe!

Hail, foot of Him who become, abides, draws near as the Agamam!

Hail, foot of Him, the One, the Not-One, and the King!

Victory to the foot of the King, who soothed my soul's unrest and made me His!

Namasivaya

Namsivaya blooms with the lyrical devotional mood of "Marghazi" (December - January) and the colourful festive mood of "Thai" (January - February).

Namasivaya unfolds the tradition of "Thiruvembavai" rendition at Sri Sivan Temple bringing alive the imagery of maidens longing for the love of Lord Shiva.

Namasivaya by covering "Margazhi" and "Thai" celebrates women as these two months stir the artistic and culinary skills of women. The "Kolam" drawing and cooking of "Kali" (Sweet Rice Pudding) and "Pongal" (Sweetened Rice) culturally symoblise these two months.

Namasivaya invokes the age old tradition of "Lighting of Ghee Lamps" for Lord Shiva which was launched during Karthikai.

Namasivaya   also covers Thiruvembavai Festival and Pongal, the two major events in the months of "Margazhi" and "Thai".
